* Twins and Multiple Births: The Essential Parenting Guide from Pregnancy to Adulthood
by Dr C. Cooper. A very accessible reference book, the author is a GP and mother of twins.
* Twins and the Family by A. Sandbank.
A very good handbook giving information and guidance to parents from childhood to post
adolescence.
* How Twins Grow Up by M. Rosambeau.
Quite dated (1987) but still valuable. The first collection of twins’ own views on how
their upbringing has affected their lives.
* Three Four or More- A study of Triplet and Higher Order Births by B. Botting,
A. MacFarlane and F. Price. (HMSO)
A report on the large national study into the problems posed by higher order births.
* Sibling Rivalry, Sibling Love by Jan Parker and Jan Stimpson. Offers an insight into the development and impact of children’s relationships with each other, and what can be done to help from their earliest days to adolescence and beyond.Includes section on twins and siblings of twins. * Twins-Genes, Environment and the Mystery of Identity by L. Wright. A review of the research, involving twins, attempting to find out how much our personality and intelligence is due to genes and how much the environment.
* The Magic of Multiples by S. Blazier, R. Hudson and M. Lowe. A collection of old picture postcards, selected to illustrate the situations faced by parents of multiples today. * Conception, Pregnancy and Birth by Dr. M. Stoppard. A comprehensive guide to having a baby, from fertilization to the first weeks of life. Contains a small amount of information about twins.
* New Toddler Taming by Dr Christopher Green. Classic guide to surviving the toddler years, including sleep problems, potty training, eating, discipline, tantrums and being a working parent. * Beyond Toddlerdom by Dr Christopher Green. For all parents in need of calm and wise advice on parenting the 5-12 age group.
* Mothering Multiples by Karen Kerkoff Gromada. Covers pregnancy, birth and early breast feeding , family adjustment, older babies and toddler multiples. * Baby and Toddler Meal Planner by A. Karmal
Over 200 quick and easy healthy recipes. Includes information on weaning and nutrition.
* The National Childbirth Trust Book of Breastfeeding by Mary Smale. Full of practical advice on every aspect of breastfeeding. * The Twins Handbook by E. Friedrich and C. Rowland. A classic, written by mothers of twins, covering pregnancy to starting school.
